Another snow storm... torrential rains... a trip to the Zoo... and Easter!
We thought our first one inch snow storm was pretty terrific. Well the one that occurred 3 days latter was even better! Not to mention the fact that Daddy left work in Missouri early because I kept calling him telling him he was going to get stuck in a blizzard and on this same day... Zac woke up from his nap with 103 fever, so we had to return to Arkadelphia that day for the second time. Thank goodness it was just a virus and we made it home to Glenwood just as the sleet started and Tim arrived 30 minutes later! About 15 hours later and 5 inches later the boys were outside with their daddy building a snowman, sledding with their buddy Bailee, and having a fabulous time while I babysat Ben and tried to work (I have had two projects hanging over my head that are/were due in March and April, these have been absorbing any spare time I can find and draining me of whatever energy I have left... there should be a light at the end of the tunnel soon). We lost electricity at 11:30 a.m. and did not get it back until about 8:45 the next day! The boys "camped out" in front of the fire with Tim and Ben and I tried to keep warm in his room! It was a very long and cold night but we all survived and the boys thought it made a good story... I on the other hand got up at 7:00 that morning and took Ben and Zac with me to Arkadelphia to warm up! The boys thought it was the best weekend ever!
Since then we've had lots of rain and some beautiful sunny days too! The weeks go by fast as I think I'm so tired that I'm just oblivious to everything including the laundry piling up around me and the dust collecting on the furniture, the food crumbs under the couch etc. Between Nate and Zac someone has had a virus 5 of the last 6 weekends! Yikes!
No for some good stuff! Nate has started T-ball and loves it! It is a circus with me trying to "coach" from the sidelines and keep an eye on Zac who is usually in a nearby puddle and keep little Ben happy while he rides in the backpack! Zac is doing well at school. Some days it is hard for him to say bye to me but overall I think it has been a positive experience and of course we still love our mommy days! Ben is growing before my very eyes. He eats carrots, squash, sweet potatoes and cereal with bananas and applesauce now! He gobbles it right up! At his 6 month appointment he was 16 lbs and 4 oz and 26 inches long... very average! He has finally learned how to roll from front to back but not the other way (back to front) which can result in a major fit! He can also sit up for several seconds at a time!
We enjoyed spending Easter together yesterday. Nate was sick and so he and Tim stayed home while Ben and Zac and I went to Sunday School and church. It was sweet to see all of the little girls in their frilly dresses... with boys... it's not such a big deal... mine just aren't the suit or smocked type. Oh well it was still a wonderful day. Nate woke up reminding us that Easter is "not about the bunny and the eggs but about Jesus rising from the dead and the stone was moved away"! My little preacher man... and was he ever right! The festivities culminated with a yummy dinner in Arkadelphia at mom and dad's house and a fun Easter Egg hunt that was repeated several times.
Papa Doc (my dad) came up last week and helped shuttle the boys to school and babysit while I worked on my project. I couldn't have made my deadline without him (poor Nana was at home with a broken rib)! He was on Spring Break last week and accompanied me and the boys to the zoo which turned out to be a perfect day! Once again I could never express in words how wonderful my Tim's parents are and mine too! They make life so much easier and joyful!
