Easter 2013

Easter kicked off with a Easter Party/Egg hunt at Ben Ben's school!  Lots of yummy goodies and treats and of course an Easter egg hunt!  This was Ben's first egg hunt of the season and he had a blast.  Love his little class and I love his teacher Mrs. Angie!!

About two years ago, we started a tradition where we go to Texarkana for the first part of Easter weekend to hang out with grandma and grandpa and Julie, Jim, Eme and Graeson!  We hunt Easter eggs, go to Spring Lake Park, and just have a great time!  This year the weather was a little rainy so we added in a trip to the bowling alley and movies!  My favorite part is just sitting around visiting and watching the cousins play together!

We had a blast bowling!  Tim even wore grandpa's old bowling shoes!!

Well of course the Easter Bunny made a stop!  Thank goodness Zachy rememberedto lay out some carrots!

Mom and dad came up to Glenwood for Easter Sunday services.  It was a great service and we really enjoyed having Nana and Papa Doc with us.  We ate a yummy lunch from Fish Nest and celebrated Nate's birthday!  Papa Doc and Nana gave him a custom-made skinning knife which is really beautiful and a great keepsake!   Then, I had to go teach gymnastics the rest of the day!

I love my 3 boys, they are growing up before my very eyes! They are precious boys that are growing into wonderful young men!

BASKETBALL 2013: Lebron James.... I mean Nate Oosterhous!

Nate is officially obsessed with basketball (this is nothing new) and is a huge fan of LeBron James, #6, Miami Heat!  Although Nate has yet to reach the NBA, he had a great basketball season with the Knights!  Thanks to Coach Melanie, "The Melinator," and Coach Jarred, the boys had a great season!  They were number one in their league going in to the end of the year tournament.

The boys played hard but lost in the semi-finals to Dierks. It was a great year and it is amazing how much the boys have improved since they first started as 3rd graders!  Unfortunately, I really don't have that many good pictures!  Going to have to get me a better camera for these action shots before next year!!!  Loved watching some hoops this year and look forward to next!   Way to go #21, you rock and we are your biggest fans!

Valentine Parties!!!

Valentines day was full of lots of kisses and cards.... kisses from their mom that is and cards from the kiddos in their class!  They got good and sugared up and had a blast!  School parties can be a little stressful on us mom's but it breaks my heart to know that  "in a blink" school parties will be no longer and a significant girlfriend will be the focus of their valentines day... not their mama!  Boo Hoo! It was fun to watch Ben and Zac at their school parties! So for now I will enjoy the fact that they like me to help make valentine's boxes, bake cookies & going to parties!

Girl's Trip to Vail!!!

Thanks to a very generous brother-in-law, and some very supportive husbands.... we 3 girls were able to escape the wonderful chaos that is our everyday lives and escape for a little trip to Vail, Colorado!  We try to get away every couple of years together and just spend time having fun and catching up on gossip!  Cause that is what girls do right?

We arrived, and had a yummy dinner but by the following morning poor Melis was sick with a stomach but that she thought she'd left behind!   So Jen and I hit the slopes!  I was nervous because I hadn't skied in 10 years!  But guess what, it all came back!  We skied lots of blues with a black thrown in every now and then.. just for laughes!  I had lots of flashbacks of skiing with my sis & Melis back in high school and college!

By the next day, Melis was recovered enough to hit the slopes!  Jen and I went out before Roo and literally got caught in a whiteout blizzard while accidentally ending up on a bowl at the back of the resort! See pic below... blue skies.... turned grey within 30 minutes and whiteout conditions!   Luckily we made it to a lodge where we drank hot cocoa and warmed up!  Next we headed out to meet Melis for lunch and for an afternoon of skiing!  We had a blast!  Lots of laughs and lots of hard core skiing!

Spent our last night in Vail village shopping and eating!  We ended the night with cupcakes in bed watching T.V. with an early lights out!  The next morning we had breakfast at a nice little bakery and walked around before packing up to head to the airport!  Love my girls and it was a wonderful weekend with lots of funny moments!  I could do a whole other blog post on how long it took us to get home due to snow storms, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and delayed flights.... but I'm so far behind on blog posts so I won't!  Thank goodness we all made it home!  Love my girls!  I'm so blessed to have two sisters.... even if one is "a sista from another mista"!  LOL!  Love ya Jen & Roo!
