We had a fabulous time in Florida with Nana, Papa Doc, Jen, Rich, Matthew, Molly, Aunt Mar Mar, and Uncle Jim! (SEE THE SLIDE SHOW TO THE RIGHT)
We left at 4:00 in the morning and the boys did fabulous! They dozed a little from 4 to 6 but after that they were awake for the entire drive! Nate wanted to know how much longer.... not in hours but in minutes! Yikes!
We were so excited to see Jen and her precious family when we arrived; we changed in to our suits and hit the beach and the pool! The boys loved the pool and it was usually the first place we went to in the mornings (outside by 8:00 or 8:30 every morning)! Molly and Ben Ben loved the pool best of all! Then we would usually head down to the beach where the boys would spend a couple of hours making sand creations and splashing in the waves. The first two days the ocean was kind of choppy but it made for excellent boogie boarding! The third day it was a brilliant blue-green and very smooth and calm! At noon we would go up for lunch and naps and then return to the pool and beach until time to go in and get ready for dinner! We ate yummy food every night hitting our favorite spots: CRABS, PEG LEG PETE'S, and FLOUNDERS! Dinner was followed by looking for crabs on the beach after dark or ice cream! We were so excited that our Aunt Mar Mar and Uncle Jim could meet us there again this year! We feel like it is now a tradition and hope they can make it every year! Jim is usually the leader of our night time crabbing expedition!
It was a wonderful week and pictures don't even do it justification! I have a few other pics from the trip that I'll post when I get them back from Jen! They are pics of our little family -- you can imagine the chaos of trying to get 3 little boys to cooperate when all they want to do is roll in the sand and jump in the water when fully clothed! Already looking forward to next summer!
P.S. I had this ready to post on Tues. but I had so many pics that I wanted to try to figure out how to put them in a slide show and put them in my post! Couldn't figure it out but I did figure out how to put them over to the side!
P.S.S. Also please keep Larry, Sue, and Ben Smith in your prayers and Ky. Ky's mom (Larry and Sues 24 year old daughter) was shot and killed in Prescott, AR this last weekend. They are our weekend neighbors and the sweetest people. Please keep their family in your prayers, especially little Ky who has lost his mommy.
