Last week was a very significant week for Nate. First, after weeks of wiggling his first loose tooth it finally came out! Nate was at his old school's afterschool program playing with his buddy Keegan when Keegan accidentally hit him in the mouth.... it was the "blow" that was needed to finally really loosen Nate's tooth. That night after dinner Nate let me try to pull it but I couldn't (it was freaking me out and Tim was in Wisconsin). So the next morning I was telling him how his friend Caroline's tooth was so loose it just fell out. Next thing I know, Nate is yelling from the bathroom that he pulled his tooth! He was quick to inform me that the first tooth gets $5.00 and a silver tooth gets $6.00..... go figure! After getting ready for bed and many questions about the tooth fairy, Nate put it under his pillow. The next morning he awoke to find out the tooth fairy had visited! She was very generous for his first tooth! Zac then begged and pleaded to take Nate's tooth to show and tell. I told him it wasn't show and tell day and I was afraid he'd loose it.... after a major fit.... I agreed to let him carry it in and show his buddies and then I took it back home! I'll have to get a pic of Nate without his tooth! However, his permanent tooth was already 3/4 of the way up so there really isn't a gap or toothy smile!
The next big event was .... NATE SHOT HIS FIRST DEER.... A NUBBIN BUCK! I wish that Tim would blog about this because he knows all of the details and I don't! According to Tim, Nate shot the buck straight on. Tim didn't even think Nate had hit it until further inspection revealed Nate had hit his deer but daddy had missed. Nate tracked his deer & the boys brought it home to clean. Nate told Tim, "that next to Christmas, it was the best day of his life!" My little hunter!
