ODE to NATE!

Happy Birthday Big Boy! It is so hard to believe that as I write this blog 6 years have passed. At this time I would've been sitting in a hospital room in sunny Monterey, California, induction underway, epidural administered, anxiously awaiting the birth of our FIRST child... Nathan Thomas Oosterhous. Never could I have envisioned all that would take place in the first 6 years of your life little man. What a fabulous six years it has been. In appearance you are a little Mills but your pursuits and interests mimic those of your daddy. You are a wonderful big brother, prized child, and loved son of God. You are smart, athletic, adventurous, funny, and STUBBORN and I am so proud to be your mommy! Happy Birthday little man. Wish I could hug you today but I know you are having fun on your adventure to Madison, WI, with daddy!
Well, although the actual birthday is today and Zac's birthday is in a couple of weeks we celebrated with a big birthday party at the Christian School last weekend. The theme was chosen by Nate and it should surprise no one that he selected CAMO! Now you would think this would be an easy theme but it was not! It required a lot of thought, creativity, and help from our friends Barbara, Kerry, and Baylie Clay who supplied the decorations of camo and animal pelts! The boys had a great time. They used Nerf guns to shoot over tin cans (supervised by Tim) and a ring toss on to deer antlers (supervised by me) and a lot of free play. They ate yummy cake/icecream, "deer food", and "fish bait". I think it was a wonderful party and we were so glad that all of their friends came to celebrate and we were so thankful to have Nana, Papa Doc, Grandpa George, Jenny, Matthew, and Molly there to party with us too!

Hope this finds everyone doing well. Life is so busy right now that it seems so hard to find time to just sit, be quiet, and enjoy.... so for now, we will just run around like chicken's with our heads cut off, be loud and crazy, and enjoy this time as best we can! Hugs to all.
