What better way to wrap up Christmas week and 2012 than to end it all with a Baptism. When Nate was about five, he told me he wanted to ask Jesus in to his heart, so we drove to Little Rock so that he could visit with my papa about what it meant to ask Jesus in to your heart. After visiting, they prayed the sweetest prayer, and both papa and I felt like Nate truly had asked Jesus in to his heart and understood what he was doing as much as a 5 year old can. However, Nate never expressed an interest in being baptized.
Late this fall Nate and I began talking about the symbolism of baptism and what it meant. Nate decided that he wanted to talk to brother Philip about being baptized and so he did. Nate wanted to have as many of our family present as possible so we decided to do it at the end of Christmas week. We were so blessed to have Jenny, Richard, Matt, Molly, Nana, Papa Doc, Mar Mar and Jim in church to celebrate with our entire family as we watched Nate tell the church that Christ lived in his heart. I love you Nate, and this is the best and most important decision that you could ever make. What a blessing it is to know that we will spend eternity together! We love you Nate!
