Spring Break 2011

Well the long-awaited Spring Break arrived! Actually, we made plans for Spring Break, nothing too crazy, wild, or far away since daddy had to work. Thankfully the weather at the beginning of the week was BEAUTIFUL! We started spring break off with another canoe trip on the caddo. It was a beautiful float and a gorgeous sunny day. Nate and I took turns in the kayak.

The boys and I spend Monday at Nana and Papa Docs hanging out and riding the ride toys. The boys enjoyed their time in Arkadoo since the big boys hadn't been there since Christmas (it has been a busy winter/spring and Nana & Papa Doc have come to Glenwood to see them) And yes I forgot my camera!

Tuesday was spent just hanging out! We picked up donuts for breakfast and took them to the park so the boys could ride their bikes. Then we came home and they had luch and naps. It was a gorgeous day so after naps the boys spend the afternoon of playing in the creek (I forgot to mention Nate and Zac were at the creek that morning by 7:30)! No pics of this day either because my camera battery was dead!

Well we were supposed to spend Wed/Thur. in Texarkana but poor Grandma Judy was sick! I figured having 3 wild boys running around her house wouldn't help so we stayed home, much to their dismay. However, I promised them we would go to the zoo instead the following day...... Well that was not to be, both Zac and Ben spent 7 hours violently ill and I spent from 8 pm until 3 pm going between rooms holding a bowl and cleaning up. We are pretty sure the two blondies had food poisioning! Ugh. Needless to say the Zoo trip was canceled.

Nate was so bummed by Thursday afternoon and the little boys were feeling better so we decided to take a quick trip to Mid America Museum in Hot Springs. The boys had a blast and that seemed to make up (somewhat) for missing the zoo!

Friday afternoon I took the boys to Mena to see daddy's office (they had never been there) and they were very impressed! After hanging around for a little bit we went to our former neighbors home to catch some catfish and eat some pizza! Yummy! Ture to Barry's word, the boys each caught a big catfish! Zac - 7 lbs., Ben 8 lbs, and Nate 6 lbs (or something like that)! The boys were thrilled! It was a great way to end the week!

Spring Break 2011 was a lot of fun in a "stay-cation" kind of way!

Hard to believe a month ago when I was writing my last post it was 25 degrees outside and when I took the photos for this post, a month later, it was about 70 degrees! WOW! It has been a busy month and maybe I'll backtrack and write about it.... and maybe I won't! However, I will leave you with some pics of the first float trip of 2011 down the Caddo River! We put on the river at our house and floated down to the Hwy 70 bridge.... the boys in the canoe with their fishing poles and me in the kayak! It was a blast! I couldn't help but look at my family and our beautiful surroundings and be so thankful and feel so blessed! Can't wait for Summer 2011!
